Erman Kalkandelen manages private equity investments in Türkiye and surrounding countries at Franklin Templeton. The firm’s Türkiye office oversees more than $1 billion in private equity assets, making it one of the leading private equity managers in the region.
Over the past decade, Mr. Kalkandelen has led investments in companies such as Defacto, Şok, Propak, and Gözde. He currently serves on the boards of prominent Turkish companies, including Şok, Hepsiburada, Netlog, and Fibabanka. He has extensive experience in investments across the consumer, technology, retail, and industrial sectors.
Mr. Kalkandelen joined Franklin Templeton in 2006 as a public equity investment analyst, responsible for developing investment ideas in Türkiye, MENA, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. Until 2017, he co-managed the multi-billion-dollar and award-winning Templeton Global Emerging Market Small Cap Strategy, achieving significant results. Before joining Franklin Templeton, he worked as a part-time analyst in the Global Banking Division of Deutsche Bank Istanbul.
He holds an MBA with high honors from Sabancı University and a bachelor’s degree in labor economics with high distinction from the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University.
